Brewed with Heart in Hendersonville
When Andy and Kelly Cubbin decided to open Southern Appalachian Brewery in 2011, Hendersonville didn't have a local microbrewery to call its own. Andy, a passionate brewer with deep respect for classic European and American brewing traditions, envisioned a welcoming neighborhood hub where beer was brewed with integrity and served fresh.
They found their home in a restored historic warehouse on the corner of Locust Street and 8th Avenue (Bearcat) in Downtown Hendersonville's Historic Depot District. To this day, our brewing tanks stand just thirty feet from the tasting room bar.
Whether you're stopping by after hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, playing a round of cornhole on the patio, or enjoying Jason DeCristofaro's Wednesday jazz jams, we treat every guest like an old friend.
"No pretension. Just honest craft beer, good neighbors, and mountain air."
— Andy & Kelly CubbinLocal Artists & Music
We believe a brewery should be a platform for local culture. We host weekly live jazz, mountain bluegrass, and acoustic songwriters, giving Western North Carolina musicians a stage to shine.
